Very funny concept, better music than I'd expect for a game like this. I just wish the controls weren't so touchy. Sometimes it feels like it just ignores my input no matter how well timed it is.

Wish it had bonus modes, like an infinite dig where you can go until your time runs out, or a time trial once you've beaten it, or an item collection rush or something.

Octopodo responds:

Totally! I'll have to include these if I do a sequel.

Please expand this into a full game, complete with full levels (even if it has an endless mode) enemies, and power-ups. Its just too fun and too well animated to leave it as a flappy bird wannabe.

Stray observations:

-Its a pain to beat a section, then slip due to thoughtless platform placement and have to redo a section.

- The collectibles are pointless, the thoughtless level design guarantees the player won't bother going after them.

-All you do is jump. "Parkour" implies theres more going on than that. Which is nitpicky but you can't really hide how generic this game is with fancy buzzwords.

-The game is incredibly frustrating, but not for any positive reason. I understand it was made for a jam, but it feels like making it functional was more important than making sure it was fun.

I like the aesthetics, the characters are all well designed and I like how the little cat guy looks when he moves. The controls are mostly good too, although you pretty much have to be standing still when firing a rocket or grenade because its too easy to shoot it in the wrong direction otherwise.

The randomness is a good idea, but somewhat poorly executed. I had one run end when I couldn't find any item to improve my jump or any rockets to open up a path to one last orb. I'd like to think it was a matter of having just missed something, but I had a map so I'm not sure how I could have missed anything. Its also very annoying when I can find multiples of a single item in one run but almost none of anything else. Not sure if its a glitch, but I rarely get equipment if I'm given abilities, and vice versa.

Some kind of casual mode would be fun too, like a set of pre-designed levels with a final boss, although its not entirely necessary.

Overall I like it and hope to see it improved over time. This'd be a fun game to play on a handheld.

PestoForce responds:

Playing on a handheld would be awesome!

Not even a game. If you want to see numbers go up by clicking you could just as easily use a calculator and keep hitting the equals sign after doing a simple equation. Much quicker to max out the score too, which is time that could be better spent playing something with some genuine effort put into it.

I was never a fan of cookie clicker in the first place, so wannabe games like this come off as even lazier by comparison.

Interesting concept. Dislike how many of the stars are put right behind the exit doors. Surely smarter hiding spots could have been thought up.

The control layout is awkward to the point that the game is almost unplayable. I don't know why developers keep using the space bar as the jump button when its one of the most out of place keys on the keyboard, especially if you expect rapid fire shooting as well. At the very LEAST including the option to change the key layout would have been appreciated.

And no "use joy2key and a controller" is NOT a proper response to thoughtless keyboard layouts.

TooDX responds:

there is an option in the main menu to change keyboard controls to whatever you wish Donny. It is labelled "Controls". I'm sorry that space is an inconvenient place for you - we initially had controls at j - shoot, k jump l dash but feedback from our beta test suggested that space felt better for the majority of our players.

Thanks for playing! I hope you give it another shot and rebind the keys to something you feel would be more comfortable with.

Stops being fun around the level 30-35 range where even with all my base stats maxed out and on level 50 even the first stage gives me trouble unless I get a yellow potion.

VaragtP responds:

You can still buy upgrades even after they are max out. They still give you stat boost. You can see your stats at the right side of the shop. Hope that helps! :)

Making the space bar the jump button is almost as bad a sin than if you had made it the up arrow key. Doubly so since A/D move you left and right, its just an uncomfortable control scheme.

The game itself is very slow and plodding. The lives are also unnecessary, giving me no incentive to finish once I depleted them.
